One thing you don’t think about as a new parent is how you are going to rinse shampoo from your child’s head. Some bathtubs come with a shower head like nozzle that you fill with water, others don’t. You could try to dip your child under the water, but that only leads to flailing and a bunch of water going everywhere. A cup from the kitchen will work if you’re willing to give up a drinking glass. Munchkin solved this problem by creating the shampoo rinser. It is made from a soft flexible plastic material and bends easily to pour water without getting it in the baby’s eyes.
The Munchkin Shampoo Rinser does what it says: rinses shampoo from the head. It holds quite a bit of water, which allows for only 1 or 2 cups of water needed to fully rinse the hair.
It doubles as a toy. My son loves to fill the cup with water and pour it on himself.
It’s dishwasher safe. This may not mean much to many people, but as a busy mother anything that I don’t have to hand wash is a good buy. It will melt on the bottom rack, so make sure to put it on the top shelf. You can also hang it upside down to let the inside dry and soap residue to run out.
The child has to tip his or her head back in order for the cup to not dump water down their face. If you have a younger child, chances are you are just going to dump water down the child’s face.
Soap scum seems to collect in the handle, and it is difficult to clean. It isn’t too big of a deal because you can run it through the dishwasher, but it is a bit of a pain.
I highly recommend the Munchkin Shampoo Rinser. It makes bathing your child a breeze, and is really fun to play with.
